i have an mp3 of the above. does anyone know the source release it
comes from. i know the original is from coil's awesome "love's secret
domain". any ideas? have trawled net but can only come up with it in
peoples playlists, download faves...

Is it just the original track with a boring drumbeat over the second
half? If so, I suspect it's just someone's (bad) joke, you won't find
it on any official CD release anywhere.

It's a fake. Ae have never taken credit for it, and nobody's ever heard
of it being officially released anywhere. FWIW, it doesn't sound like
anything they'd have done. It's just too bland and generic, and the
source material is completely unaltered.

Yes, it is just the original with dull drum thing that fades in half
way through (spoiling the originals sombre beauty, actually). thought
it was a bit tame and uninspired to have come from sean/rob's hard
drives. have seen mention of an ae mix of microphone fiend by erik b
and rakim...suppose that is fake too? (seems too good to be true,
that one)

Actually that's legit, kinda. It's from their live performance at
Coachella, it's a version of Blifil from Peel Session 2, with
the Microphone Fiend vocals faded in over the second half.
